MW2: Perks - Commando

Posted by Diagonalspoon On 14:40 0 Comments

Commando is a very fun and enjoyable perk to use at all times. Ive talked about knifing classes before and that they can be a change from the regular guns and grenades. If you are wanting to try a knifing class I would suggest to use commando as it makes you lunge so much further. Also it tends to annoy the other team! When trying to use a knifing class just remember to get as close to the enemy as possible without them seeing you. If you run straight at them they will just shoot you there and then. But if you go around through doors and windows they will find it hard to keep track of them until you can lunge to kill. If you do find yourself running at an enemy just toss a stun or flash this should give you enough time to take them out. Knife classes are really fun and can also sometimes get you a very high killstreak. Check out the quick video I made below to show the difference commando makes and also highlights from the first game I played with it!

MW2: Perks - Slot 2

Posted by Diagonalspoon On 08:39 0 Comments

This perk slot seems to be the most important in my eye and each of these perks has a great impact in the game. Some can even be the difference between dying and not dying. In this slot there are:

  • Stopping power
  • Lightweight
  • Hardline
  • Cold Blooded
  • Danger Close

Stopping power
In my opinion this could very well be the most used and also the best perk in the game. This can be the difference between getting owned or owning. This can be used very well on any gun and all it does is simply add more damage to your gun. The pro version of this comes in no use to me as when killstreaks appear I normally change class to destroy them instantly. In all, this is one awesome perk that gives an advantage on any other player.

Lightweight

Lightweight can come in very useful for certain gamemodes and also for run and gunning. Lightweight makes the user run faster than he normally would. This perk coupled with marathon makes a great package that can be used very well in game types such as capture the flag and sabotage because if you can get around faster then you can capture the flag/blow up the bomb faster.I would recommend using this perk with a high mobility gun as well so you run the fastest you can. The pro version of this perk come in very handy one you unlock it as you will be sprinting many places so having the ability to aim faster after sprinting gives you a big advantage over the other player.

Hardline
I used hardline alot when I was a lower level as all the killstreaks were unlocked at less kills. I Thought "great!" but as I got higher and higher levels I realized that You still need the same amount of kills to get to your next killstreak. For example if you have hardline on and you get a predator at 4 kills, you still need 2 more for a harrier. So I then used a different perk instead. This perk can be good for people wanting a very low killstreak setup but if you are going for the nuke I would recommend using a different perk such as stopping power or cold blooded.

Cold-Blooded
Cold-Blooded is another perk that is highly used on more stealthy classes as this protects you very well from killstreaks and you are invisible to the UAV. This can come in very handy in search and destroy game modes. This can go well with marathon as the unlimited sprint and invisibility makes you a ninja, and if you use ninja as the third perk the pro ability is silent footsteps which come in extremely useful. I always use this on one of my classes which is simply called destroy. This class is used to take out all enemy killstreaks that the other team call in this comes in very very useful as an active killstreak is a dangerous one.

Danger close
This perk gives all explosives a higher amount of damage. I use this alot on classes with noob tubes as it greatly affects the number of players you can kill. The noob tube is used alot on many game modes as it is a favorite weapon of chose to kill people with at the start (spawn tubing). But the pro ability is what makes this perk great. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you have a chopper gunner and you are not on a killstreak anymore I would greatly recommend changing to danger close pro as the chopper will kill alot more people.

MW2: Perks - Slot 1

Posted by Diagonalspoon On 08:33 0 Comments

Each perk slot has 5 perks to choose from, the first perk slot has:

  • Marathon
  • Slight of Hand
  • Scavanger
  • Bling
  • One man army

All perks can help the player in a certain way. I love the new perks in modern warfare 2. Firstly marathon which replaced extreme conditioning from Call of duty 4. This perk has been used extensively by many players and it most common with aggressive classes as it helps you get where you want to go faster than any other player. Also the tactical knife class normally has this perk used on it at all times. The pro ability of marathon enables users to get over obstacles alot faster, you can definatly notice the time difference and it is almost super human. Slight of hand could also be used on maps where you will always be in the fight such as a free for all because when you are getting bombarded with lead you want to be able to reload and shoot back as fast as possible. But this perk isn't needed as much when using classes that dont encounter as many enemies at such a constant rate. But the pro ability for this perk is extremely useful. Faster ADS, this makes a world of difference to your guns as the faster you can aim the faster you can shoot and kill the enemy. This perk is a must for quick scopers because without it lifting the scope to your eye is simply too slow. One of my personal favorite perks is scavenger this perk is particularly useful for guns which start of with little ammo such as the SCAR-H also this perk allows 2 claymores to be planed at the same time. Whenever the claymore blows up you can collect the scavenger pack from the dead body and set up another one. If you try to set up three the first one you planted blows up (this is the same for C4's). Bling is also a widely used perk in MW2 as many people requested it when modern warfare 2 was still in making. Using this perk allows for greater customization of the gun and can be used to create a deadly setup for your class. Try out what you think will work and if it doesn't, switch until it does. One man pro, I find that for me this is the worst perk out of the blue perks as I would much rather have a secondary weapon. But still, there are some situations in which this perk fits perfectly. Such as a sniper needing more ammo could just switch to the same class to replenish all the ammo. Some people say that one man army makes scavenger obsolete, what do you think?

MW2: Perks - Introduction

Posted by Diagonalspoon On 07:34 0 Comments

The next three posts are going to about the perks in modern warfare 2 and the uses. Perks have been in many call of duty games, but a new feature was added in modern warfare 2. This was the inclusion of a pro ability. These pro abilities are unlocked after doing a certain amount of a challenge which has something to do with the certain perk. For example to get marathon pro you will need to run many many miles with marathon enabled. Once the challenge is complete the pro ability is always enabled for the perk you unlocked it with. A pro ability will be something to help you abit more. All the pro ability's are related to the perk you unlocked it on. For example marathon pro helps you get over objects faster. For a full list of the perks and pro abilitys check out this page.
