Modern Warfare 2 - Tips Tricks and Tactics

Domination was a very widely played game mode in Cod4. It is just as successful in modern warfare 2, there are 2 main types of domination. Linear and triangular I shall be going through both of them and the different tactics on for each one.

Linear
A linear domination is one where the flags on the map are positioned in a straight line. Linear domination can be very easily won or lost very quickly. This is because spawn trapping thrives in this game modes, when two flags are under control the other team will spawn at the remaining flag making spawn points very predictable.  My suggestion for linear domination is simply that you should try to spawn trap them at all times. Try to think where they are going to spawn and proceed to cover that area. Do not go too close or they will spawn somewhere else. Some people may think that this is a very bad way to play but think about it, if you dont spawn trap them they are gonna do it to you! So what if you do get stuck and the other team are spawn killing you, what can you do? There are two main strategies that I would take to try and stop this. One being communication try to organize your team the best, tell them where all the enemies you spot are. Doing this could make the enemies spawn further away and give your team a chance to get out of spawn area. My preferred way of getting out of a spawn trap would be to sneak around the edge of the certain map and catch the far flag. This then spawns your players over at the newly captured flag.

Triangular
You geussed it! Triangular is when the flags are set up in a triangle on the certain map. I find this better as there is less spawn killing. Domination is all about flags and trying to keep them, on a triangular mode you should defiantly try to keep your flags as they can be lost easily. If you see that there is nobody defending it, defend it! flashbangs should be used around corners and claymores planted on flags. Remember, whenthe domination symbol is flashing the flag is being captured! Tell your team everything, communication is key. I hope this post has helped you in domination. Capture the flag was first in call of duty 3 then in world at war, it wasn't featured in call of duty 4 for unknown reasons. It has two flags that each team need to defend while both teams still have to try steal the other and bring it back. There are two rounds the most flags captured in a certain amount of time and then it swaps. If it is a draw at the end of the second round it will go onto sudden death, the first person to grab the other teams flag wins. Capturing a flag for your team awards you with 150xp. This is a very good gametype with many chances to get alot of experience.

Capturing
There are many ways to go about getting the flag for your team, one of the ways is using a riot shield. This involves barging through the enemies using cold blooded could work well with this so you will not be seen on the UAV while you are making your way there (if you have the flag there will be a kill sign above your head). Once you have got the flag beware of people trying to kill your from behind, you could counter this by putting the shield away so it is on your back. Another way of getting the flag for your team would be to use a running class with marathon and lightweight. you can then sprint for a very long time while running for the flag and running away. Using a smoke to cloak hot fighting spots you need to run through will help you.

Defending
If you want to defend your flag to make sure the other team doesn't win there are also many options for this as well. The one that I would suggest would be a assualt rifle with a shotgun for secondary. Using claymores to claymore the flag up will help alot. Get into a hard to see place where you will have a visual on the flag. Once you have killed any enemy I would switch to a different place and becareful while you are moving not to get shot. Using this method should keep your base free of enemies to help your team on its way to victory.
